Employment and Labour
- Acting as counsel for trade unions, employers, not-for-profit organizations and aboriginal organizations and communities on a wide variety of labour relations matters such as grievances, workers' compensation board appeals, classification appeals, occupational health and safety matters, human rights and harassment investigation and complaints, labour relations board applications including certifications, variances, unfair labour practices and other code matters.
- Negotiating and drafting collective agreements on behalf of trade unions or employers, for individual units and public service units.
- Advising trade unions and employers including aboriginal groups on a range of human resource related matters including performance management, privacy, harassment, job classification plans and incentive programs.
- Advising employers on employee incentive programs including drafting employee stock option plans, profit sharing plans, employee orientation programs, and employee performance management programs.
- Handling wrongful dismissal disputes for employer and employees up to and including litigation of the dispute.
- Acting as mediator for public sector organizations on employment related disputes
- Acting as an investigator for employers for employment related matters such as sexual and personal harassment.
- Advising employers on privacy issues and drafting of privacy policies and procedures that comply with federal and provincial privacy laws.
